VIETNAMESE CREATIVE LEADERS OF SAN DIEGO
BRIDGE brings the Vietnamese Leaders Community lecture series to City Heights. Rizzhel Javier, founder of BRIDGE specifically designed this lecture series to increase the dialogue and visibility of Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American artists, filmmakers and educators living in San Diego, CA and call City Heights their home. The goal of the lecture series is to discuss topics in identity, family origin, culture and migration with leaders that strengthen and support the mission of the Little Saigon Stories project.
This project was funding by BRIDGE with additional funding from Dignity Memorial.
In celebrating for the Tet Festival, we were invited to hold a workshop at the local church for youth in a Vietnamese after school program. The church facilitated many games and provided us with the perfect space to partner with Bridge and the People and Places Project. Guests that participated in this FREE workshop turned shared their stories. Each person got the chance to draw a self portrait, or of someone they care about, and turn it into a plush toy to take home!
